An application to suspend doctoral studies must be submitted within 30 days of the birth of a child. The requested suspension period must comply with regulations on parental leave. The Human Resources Department will inform the applicant of the allowable leave period and confirm the number of days to be granted. Note that regulations are expressed in weeks; the number of days does not necessarily correspond to a single calendar year.
Approval of the application results in the planned completion date being postponed by the duration of the suspension. This may require modifications to the IRP, primarily regarding the dissertation submission deadline. In such cases, the revised IRP must be submitted for approval at the next School Council meeting. If no modifications to the IRP are required, this statement may be omitted. A double-sided application form is preferred.
Application for Suspension of Studies
If the change to the IRP concerns ONLY the dissertation submission date, an annex to the IRP must be submitted, which does not require approval by the School Council.
